Yes, it's a country for old men. And women. There are many cases of great actors who have found life beyond maturity. Kenue Reeves and Carrie-Ann Moss told us this clearly in the closing of the most recent chapter of the Matrix: "Resurrections". In the last dialogue, where they exchange ideas about freedom, Trinity and Neo respond with irony to their antagonist (a mature Doogie Howser as well):

Serious film and television are repeatedly giving new opportunities to their great talents. Roberto de Niro, Clint Eastwood, Woody Allen, Jack Nicholson, Annette Bening, Sandra Bullock, Meryl Streep and Susan Sarandon are just some of the cases of great stars who are still alive and well and whom the screen loves.

Now it is necessary to open a special chapter for Jodie Foster. An extraordinary woman to whom acting fame came from the very first moment. How could we not remember her starring role in Taxi Driver, which earned her an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress when she was only 14 years old. Now, almost 50 years later, Foster returns to the awards stage to receive her most recent acknowledgment: Best Leading Actress in a Miniseries or Television Film for her role as Detective Liz Danvers, who must solve a crime surrounded by mystery in the exotic land of Alaska. It is the first time she has received this recognition and it comes to complete her resume that already has two Oscars, four Golden Globes, two Bafta and a Palme d'Or.

In True Detective, his performance is solid and shows the experience gained over five decades of success. His role is fabulous and profound. The first season of True Detective, starring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson, is already a television classic. That's why there was a lot of expectation for this fourth installment of the saga: achieving the same level of tension and mystery was already a challenge. Jodie Foster did what she had to do once again and demonstrated how seniority continues to be a decisive factor for jobs where talent is the key. In a context dominated by social networks, where virality is the rule of the game, being able to enjoy a magnificent performance like Foster's in True Detective puts things back into perspective. It will never be too late for Jodie Foster.
