Mexican singer Ana Bárbara released her new single “De vez en cuando,” a song she performs with Cristian Castro. It is a slow and deep romantic ballad, where the intense voices of both singers claim the importance of an honest and true love.

“That in love I should look for someone with another heart, who doesn't make me cry. A great love that starts all this suffering, a great love, one of those who give good love,” they sing in a chorus that couldn’t be more explicit. The slow initial guitars, as well as the wind instruments, accompany the song with a clear Mexican accent.

The singer and actress, who's lived in Los Angeles for the last 10 years, joined forces with Castro, one of the biggest creators of sentimental ballads. The song was recorded before the pandemic, but she waited until now to release it.

The music video was recently recorded in Los Angeles. The colored lights and the smoke welcome the two singers, who clinging and caressing each other, perform the song full of nostalgia, remorse, desire and passion.

Bárbara, winner of a Latin Grammy award, expressed her feelings in a press release after releasing the video, which now has more than half a million views on YouTube.

"It's like living in an idyllic dream, in which more than 25 years ago I visualized myself singing with one of the most admired stars in the music industry," she said.

In addition, she asked Cristian Castro, with an open heart, “to provide his masterful interpretation for the song."

According to her, the song went beyond personal relief.

"I took it to the spiritual side, inviting me and everyone who listens, to put aside prejudices, and vibrate in a beautiful frequency that takes us away from fear and brings us closer to freedom," she commented.

In times of war and world instability, she called for her music to be “an oasis of peace in everybody’s hearts. It will always be a privilege to know that there are those who have been seduced by my songs.” The Mexican star is known for big hits like "Bandido," "Que poco," and "Loca."

Recently, Bárbara released “Yo soy una mujer,” where she paid tribute to Jenny Rivera on the tenth anniversary of her death. The single was released during Women's History Month on an Amazon Music compilation titled "Shine Their Light," a special project that aims to highlight women breaking barriers in music.
