At the end of 2021, Maná announced that the band would schedule a multi-performance residency at the Los Angeles Forum. The legendary Mexican pop rock band initially announced it would give four concerts, but promised to add dates if there is more demand. That's exactly what's happening after its first weekend of performances.

“We have so many surprises preprared for our fans at this residency. Any performance will be the same – get ready to see Maná like never before,” the band promised in a press release.

Last weekend, the band kicked off their shows with back-to-back shows on March 18 and 19. In a strong atmosphere and after denouncing the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the quartet made up of Fher Olvera, Juan Carlos Calleros, Álex González and Sergio Vallín shook the audience with their classic songs “Oye mi amor,” “Labios compartidos,” “Mariposa traicionera,” and many more.

Claiming values ​​of peace, the singer Fher jumped on stage wearing a t-shirt with the slogan "No war," with "Fuck Putin" written on the back. He also used his media impact to defend the rights of immigrants, Mexicans living in the U.S., and to denounce the government of Nicolás Maduro in Venezuela.

His chords and catchy songs have, more than ever, a highly political tone.

"In some towns, like Ukraine, there is a murderer named Putin who has killed children, has attacked schools, hospitals, and karma will take care of that bastard," Fher said to the applause from the audience.

Maná returned to the same stage where it broke a record in 2019 — it was the first band to sell out seven concerts scheduled at the Forum. Given the high demand, the current residence will include 10 performances. The next ones will be on April 22-23; June 24-25; July 15-16; and Sept. 16-17.

The Mexican band wanted to launch a cry of hope with an unreleased song in a world shaken by the coronavirus and war.

“We are survivors of a pandemic and we must celebrate that we are alive and reunited. We must continue to live with great hope, we can see the light at the end of the tunnel,” said Fehr.

A new song, featured “Un nuevo amanecer,” featured musicians from different ethnic groups, playing percussion and wearing traditional clothing.

The public cheered when they played “De pies a cabeza.” The musicians were grateful: “we feel at home, with our friends, with whom we have always vibrated very well.” In more than 30 years of career, Maná used to play dynamic live shows, offering different versions of their own songs, and alternating its repertoire.

With “Mi Verdad,” a song recorded with Shakira in which Fher recounts a stormy period that led him to a deep depression. He wanted to honor his own son.

“At only seven years old, my son helped me get ahead. That's how children are too,” he thanked.

There were other high points, such as the invitation to the Mexican couple María and Javier to sing on the stage along the band. After admitting he had committed infidelity, they sang the song “El verdadero amor perdona.”
