Shakira breaks social media with her Bizarrap collab and subtle jabs at Piqué

Together with Bizarrap, Argentine DJ and producer, Shakira dropped a song with an indirect reference to Gerard Piqué and Clara Chía, the ex-football player's girlfriend.

"BZRP Music Sessions #53" is the official title of the production in which Shakira, unlike other guests, does not rap but sings.  

"A wolf like me is not for newbies. A wolf like me is not for guys like you," says Shakira before launching one of several jabs at Piqué: "I'm too big for you and that's why you're with a girl just like you."

Among other references the artist makes to her relationship with the former soccer player is the number two, which was the gesture the player made when he dedicated goals to her and it represented the date of both of their birthdays, Feb. 2. However, 22 is also Clara Chia's age and that is why Shakira drops in the song, "I'm worth two of 22." 

More hints that stand out are about Pique's watch and car collection, as well as the constant wordplay she has with the names 'Piqué' and 'Clara.' 

With the collaboration, Shakira joins a host of other artists who have participated in Bizarrap music sessions, such as Quevedo, Duki, Residente, Paulo Londra, Anuel AA, Nicky Jam, among others.

Fans' reaction

Shakira's fans have been waiting for the release of the music session since it was announced a few days ago. 

The song has created thousands of reactions, and on YouTube alone it already has more than 250,000 comments supporting the collaboration. 

"Women don't cry anymore, women bill," "you thought you hurt me and made me tougher," and "a lot of gym, but work your brain a little bit too," are some of the most repeated phrases on social media from the song. 

Her most loyal fans hope to break the record by making it the most-listened-to song in 24 hours with 108.2 million views. The current holder of the title is "Butter" by the K-Pop group BTS.
