Argentinian musician and actor Diego Torres, a well-known Latin pop artist with eight studio albums in his career, began the year bringing joy. His video clip “Para sentirme libre”, with Latin reggae bases, is a plea for “good vibes”. The song, in which Natiruts and Rayko B participate, has already exceeded one million views on YouTube.

The song is included in his latest album “Atlántico a Pie”, which was nominated for the 2021 Latin Grammy in the category of best traditional pop vocal album.

In an environment that evokes a tropical beach bar, with bright lights and colorful clothing, Torres and the musicians along him wanted to put an end to the gray pandemic times. “To feel free, free, free. To stay alone, alone, alone. I don't need a visa and I'm in no hurry. Because it doesn't matter so much where I go. To feel free. To stay alone I'm going to change course. And in a second, that's how I discover everything I am”, they sing in a catchy chorus without excessive complications.

The video clip was directed by Miguel González and Diego, the same creative team behind the music on the album. The scene was filmed at night in Miami, in a warm and relaxed atmosphere.

The most curious fact is that the song was recorded in three languages: English, Spanish and Portuguese. At the beginning, the presenter (Raiko B), holding an old radio and in a black and white shot, reminds the viewers: “What a beatiful day to be alive!”. Veteran Brazilian reggea group Natiruts sings entire verses in their native language, bringing an enriching linguistic mix to the composition.

 

“Atlántico a Pie” also included other songs that caused a great impact, after their release as singles. The most notable case is “Un poco”, featuring the legendary Carlos Vives, which has exceeded 216 million views on YouTube. In “Esa Mujer”, Torres demonstrated his abilities as an actor, in a piece that includes Stephanie Cayo from the Club de Cuervos series.

The Spanish singer Macaco, the Colombian Jorge Villamizar and the also Colombian Catalina García participated in “Amanece”, where they launched a message of hope in the midst of a pandemic. It seems that the reggae released earlier this year is a continuation, an impulse to consolidate urgent positivism.

His other successful singles were "Este corazón" with the Colombian Fonseca, in which he rambles about a relationship in danger, and "Hoy", a moving and danceable song with the Brazilian Ivete Sangalo.

Diego Torres will present his latest album in his country, with performances in Buenos Aires (May 19 and 20 at the Teatro Gran Rex), Rosario (June 2 at the Metropolitano Abierto) and Córdoba (June 4 at the Plaza de the music).
