The art of Nebinger Elementary Students to be presented on this year’s National Christmas Tree
Students from the Philly elementary school have been working on art for Washington’s National Christmas Tree.

Students across the country have been making art to be displayed around the National Christmas Tree in Washington D.C. this year.
This will be the 99th annual National Christmas Tree lighting, and it will take place on Thursday, Dec. 2.
Students from 58 schools across the United States — both at home and abroad — have created unique, personalized ornaments for the trees.
The ornaments made by the students will be presented on smaller trees spread about to surround the National Christmas Tree.
Out of the 58 schools, one happens to be Philadelphia’s own Nebinger Elementary in Bella Vista.

Students there have created artwork depicting imagery such as Pennsylvania’s state flower and the LOVE park sign.
The National Christmas Tree display will be open to the public between Dec. 4 and Jan. 1, 2022.
The display will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sundays through Thursdays, and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
The tradition was first celebrated by President Calvin Coolidge in 1923.
